Hugen blogg

Høyrt så mykje om blogg, – vil prøve!

Hol i veggen

A blog experiment, quite new, which might have been confusing:

I try to write an English version of the text, and it goes like this:

In Norwegian we sometimes talk about «å møte veggen», literally it should be «to hit the wall» (to crash into the wall). When we talk about the wall in this way, we may have been in a very strenuous state of efforts and not in a state of calm deliberate thoughts. Then you out of sudden may hit the wall, or be hit of the wall. You are knocked out.

One Sunday, during a relaxed photo walk, I was vey lucky and experienced the quite opposite way of meeting. The wall I  discovered had a special hole and through the hole I could see another inside wall.

This was not be knocked out, but to be granted a different view, – or what do you think?

I think «to hit the wall» is not a proper translation. Will it be better to say: «to meet the wall» – and as I said in the beginning, – this is supposed not to be a nice meeting, the «wall» will knock you down.
